Health
Building a healthier Uganda, one village at a time
Community health and well-being through integrated, community-led interventions.
Village Synergy promotes community health by partnering with the Ministry of Health to turn national policies into real-life recovery and hope for families in Northern Uganda.
We focus on improving maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, family planning, and access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) to reduce preventable illnesses.
- Safe Motherhood: Supporting mothers through 8 prenatal visits, safe delivery, and family planning.
- HIV/AIDS Care: Community HIV testing, ARV delivery, peer support, and stigma reduction.
- Clean Water & WASH: Safe latrines, handwashing stations, and menstrual hygiene support to keep girls in school.
- Behaviour Change: Radio, village meetings, and community conversations promoting healthy practices.
Our trained Village Health Teams (VHTs) serve across 40 healthcare points, each mobilizing approximately 100 households, expanding community health outreach and awareness.
Education
Empowering Northern Uganda through knowledge and practical skills
Inclusive and practical education pathways that equip learners with essential life and employable skills.
At Village Synergy, we believe education is the heartbeat of community transformation. We don't just build classrooms — we build ecosystems where students can thrive.
- Early Childhood Development (ECD): Chosen Kids Nursery and Primary School provides learning-through-play, daily meals, and WASH facilities for 150 enrolled children in Lira.
- Vocational Skills: Imara Vocational Youth Skilling Center graduates 50 learners annually with DIT-certified skills in tailoring, carpentry, welding, catering, and agribusiness.
- Secondary Skill Learning Hubs: Solar-powered digital learning hubs and the "Keep Her in School" initiative tackle barriers that prevent girls from completing their education.
Imara also trains youth in modern agribusiness — moving from subsistence farming to business-class farming with market linkages, value addition, and recognized vocational certificates.
Conservation Enterprise
When the village thrives, the lion roars — linking communities to green economic opportunities
Sustainable livelihoods through conservation-based enterprise that protects natural resources.
We believe the people living nearest to Uganda's National Parks are the best guardians of the land. We provide the tools, training, and market links to ensure conservation puts food on the table.
- Wildlife Tourism: Eco-Village Hubs where travelers stay with locals, supporting authentic community tourism and generating real income for rural households.
- Agribusiness: TekLim Agribusiness supports 3,054 clients with inputs, solar irrigation, climate-smart seeds, and direct market access — turning raw crops into branded, processed products.
- Artisan & Value Addition: Training in milling, packaging, branding, and solar drying to reduce post-harvest loss and access supermarkets and export markets.
- Financial Inclusion: TekLim SACCO with 231 active members provides savings, low-interest loans, and input credit linked to harvest repayment cycles.
Our wildlife conservation work uses beehive fences and chili barriers to reduce crop raiding by 75%, turning human-wildlife conflict into coexistence and conservation-based income.
Peacebuilding
True peace is not just the absence of war, but the presence of justice, food security, and community trust
Strengthening harmony in households, schools, and the wider community.
Village Synergy Uganda promotes peaceful and cohesive communities through dialogue, conflict resolution, and community engagement to prevent violence, reduce tensions, and build lasting trust.
- Dialogue & Social Cohesion: Bringing refugees and host communities together. When people share a meal and a conversation, they are less likely to fight over water or land.
- Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS): Community-based counseling for thousands still suffering from "war-memory" distress across Acholi and Lango regions.
- Economic Empowerment: Addressing the poverty that drives local conflict by supporting livelihoods, farming, and small business to remove the desperation that leads to theft and violence.
- Gamified Community Engagement: Making peacebuilding interactive and inclusive for youth through participatory games, dialogue-based challenges, and reward systems that promote positive behaviour change.
Peacebuilding is integrated across all our programs — health, education, livelihoods, and conservation — because sustainable development cannot happen without social cohesion.
