About Village Synergy Uganda

Feminist. Community-Driven. Systems-Transforming. Building resilient, self-reliant communities since 2015.

Our Story

From Grassroots Activism to Integrated Development

Founded in 2015, Village Synergy Uganda emerged from a deep commitment to addressing the systemic inequalities that keep Northern Uganda's communities in cycles of poverty and vulnerability. Our founders saw that isolated programs — a clinic here, a school there — were not enough. What communities needed was an integrated approach that worked with the whole system.

Operating across Lango, Acholi, Karamoja, West Nile, and Teso sub-regions, we have built a model that connects health, education, livelihoods, financial inclusion, peacebuilding, and conservation into a coherent, community-driven ecosystem.

Our "Social Enterprise Edge" — TekLim Ltd and TekLim SACCO — demonstrates that sustainable development requires sustainable financing. We are not just a charity; we are building systems that eventually fund themselves.

Vision

Resilient, healthy, and economically empowered communities living in dignity and peace.

Mission

To strengthen community systems in health, education, livelihoods, climate resilience, and financial inclusion through locally driven solutions.

Tagline

Climate Justice. Health Security. Economic Dignity.

Approach

Community-led development, systems strengthening, gender & social inclusion, and a Climate & One Health lens across all programming.

What Guides Us

Our Core Values

Gender Justice

Women, youth, and marginalized groups are central to all programming. We actively challenge systems that perpetuate inequality.

Community Ownership

We prioritize participatory planning and local leadership. Sustainable change belongs to the people who live it.

Transparency

We publish our financials, share our evidence, and hold ourselves accountable to the communities we serve and the donors who trust us.

Sustainability

Our social enterprise model ensures that programs build capacity, not dependency — creating systems that outlast our direct involvement.

Partnership

We work with government, INGOs, private sector, and communities as equals — because no single actor can transform a system alone.

Climate Resilience

Every program integrates environmental sustainability and climate adaptation — because a healthy planet is the foundation of healthy communities.

How We Work

Our Approach

1
Community-Led Development

Participatory planning and local leadership ensure every program responds to real community priorities — not donor assumptions.

2
Systems Strengthening

We work with government, community institutions, and the private sector to build capacities that function even after our programs end.

3
Gender & Social Inclusion

Every activity is designed with women, youth, and marginalized groups not as beneficiaries but as leaders and decision-makers.

4
Climate & One Health Lens

Environmental sustainability and zoonotic risk awareness are integrated into all programming — because people and planet are one system.
